Girish Luthra, Chairman of Luthra Group of Companies, is a veteran, visionary and instrumental in steering the circular economy. Girish is a leading industrialist with 40+ years of experience spanning across various businesses and has significant contribution towards self-sustainability, Decarbonisation, and reduction in GHG emission across India. His keen understanding and interest in the field of the circular economy have allowed him to achieve success in the field of Environment Sustainability.
Over the years, he has been “who’swho” in several National & International Delegations, as an eminent contributor on hazardous waste management and industrial wastewater recycling. He is among those who relentlessly strive in raising the quality bar, pushing boundaries and springing up with innovative ways to progress the professional endeavours.
His strong desire to contribute to the environment and society by being a sustainable solution provider and contributing to the circular economy pushed him to take charge of Luthra Group of Companies as a Chairman and Managing Director. He is influenced by the ideology of Jamshedji Tata, Warren Buffet and Dhirubhai Ambani.
Girish is selflessly engaged to bridge the enormous gap in waste management in the country. Towards this initiative, Luthra group has transitioned into a well-diversified and comprehensive solution provider in the environmental infrastructure business promoting circular economy with the core value proposition on 3R’s, i.e., Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Luthra Group’s journey started four decades back from a pre-dominant textile industry. In the last two decades, the group has matured itself into the environment sustainability segment. Today, Group has grown to a 1500-member family, 11 full-fledged offices, and 5 divisions, spread across Pan-India as a specialist in hazardous waste and clean water.
LUTHRA GROUP – PROMOTING SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Luthra Group, since its inception in the year 1953 in the textile segment, and in the last two decades, has grown steadily and has acquired a commanding position in Industrial Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Recycling through Pre-Processing, Industrial Wastewater Recycling through CETP- ZLD facilities and successfully developing of sustainable Eco Textile Parks.
As part of the “Swachh Bharat Mission,” the group has engaged itself in producing Sustainable Alternate Fuel (SAF) from Municipal solid waste. The SAF will commence its operation in the third quarter of FY 22.

During the pandemic, the company had to go through numerous challenges – namely:

2. Demand crunch from customers, and
3. Special government permits
