The choices came days after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP president JP Nadda in New Delhi amid speculation of a state Cabinet change or expansion.
Sidhartha Nath Singh, a state cabinet member, and a government spokesman said roughly nine acres of land owned by the Department of Culture will be given to the Department of Transportation for free to build the bus terminal. It might be developed on a public-private partnership basis near the “Sanskriti Manch” that is now under development in Ayodhya Dham.
The bus terminal would link people from all across the state, including diverse sections of the state, and would improve connection to locations like Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ballia, Azamgarh, Lucknow, Kanpur, and others,” he added.
The Cabinet also eased regulations to allow for the expansion of a 1.5-kilometer stretch of road connecting the town to the projected international airport. It will be a four-lane highway capable of carrying a minimum of 18,000 passenger vehicles. Because there isn’t much traffic on the route right now, the rule was relaxed to make room for the expansion.
The project would cost INR 20 crore, and the necessary land was provided by the education department. According to Singh, the Cabinet had agreed to give it to the Department of Public Works for free.
The Cabinet also approved INR 284 million in Prayagraj projects, including the building of a railway overbridge-cum-flyover to relieve traffic congestion. The four-lane overbridge will be built near the Subedarganj railway station, while a two-lane flyover will be built on the Chaifkata-Kanpur highway.
