DGCA announces the ban extended on International flights till May 31

- Since March 23, 2020, Scheduled international flights have been banned in India.
- The prohibition would not extend to international all-cargo flights or other DGCA-approved flights.
DGCA announces the ban extended on International flights
Scheduled international flights have been prohibited in India since March 23, 2020, though flights to foreign destinations are allowed under a special bilateral bubble that connects India to 27 countries. The prohibition would not extend to all-cargo international flights or other DGCA-approved flights.
“With the partial amendment of the circular dated 6/26/2020, the Central Government has extended the validity of the above circular in respect of International Commercial Passenger Services in India to 2359 hours IST May 31, 2021.
Various countries such as the United Kingdom, United States, Kuwait, France, and Canada have banned flights from India due to cases of COVID-19 and “double mutant” viruses discovered in the country. The most recent additions to this list are Iran, Kuwait, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. From countries where Indian citizens are not allowed to travel.
Due to an extraordinary increase in COVID-19, Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced this week that all direct passenger flights from India would be suspended for the next three weeks.
India is still dealing with the worst Covid-19 epidemic, which has resulted in the suspension of international commercial flights. On Thursday, India recorded 3.86,452 new COVID-19 cases and 3,498 deaths, according to Ministry of Health data.
Today, the country set a new record with 3.86 lakh Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 1.87 crores. The United States, the United Kingdom, and many other countries have begun international aid flows with the shipment of Covid-19-related emergency supplies.
Because of the significant increase in infections, some states have implemented restrictive measures, including nocturnal curfews. In an address to the nation earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged state governments to use termination as a complete “last resort.” The country has passed a strict 2,000-death threshold from Covid-19.
