The Indian government has again issued an order banning 54 Chinese applications. While many of them are unlikely to have a significant impact on users, the list includes Garena Free Fire, also known as Free Fire, a battle royale game. After the Indian government banned PUBG Mobile in India in 2020, Free Fire became extremely popular.

Did you know that Krafton just sued Garena Free Fire? Yes, you read it correctly. The game has been accused of copying elements from PUBG Mobile. The company also filed a lawsuit against Google and Apple for allowing the game to be available in their respective app stores. Various parts of the game, including the structure and an airdrop function, were copied, according to Krafton, in the lawsuit. The game was taken down from app stores as a result of the complaint, according to reports. However, it appears that Google was following the Indian government order. Although Garena Free Fire was built by a Singapore-based corporation, but this application also falls under the “security threat” category.
