PM Modi flags off India’s 3rd Vande Bharat Express: Ticket price, routes & timing
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (September 30) flagged off a new and upgraded version of Vande Bharat Express from Gandhinagar.

This will be India’s third Vande Bharat train connecting the two state capitals of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The other two currently operate on the New Delhi-Varanasi route and the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra route.

The newly launched Vande Bharat Express will depart from Mumbai Central at 6:10 am and reach Gandhinagar at 12:30 pm. The train will stop at Surat at 8:50 am, Vadodara at 10:20 am, and Ahmedabad at 11:35 am. On the return journey, Vande Bharat Express will leave Gandhinagar at 2:05 PM and reach Mumbai Central at 8:35 PM.It will halt at Ahmedabad Railway Station at 2:40 PM, Vadodara at 4 PM, and Surat at 5:40 PM. The Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The first Vande Bharat Express train was flagged off on the New Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad-Varanasi route on 19 February 2019. In his address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 15 August 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that during 75 weeks of the Amrit Mahotsavof Independence, 75 Vande Bharat trains would connect every corner of the country.
This Vande Bharat Express running between Gandhinagar Capital and Mumbai Central will have 16 coaches. Vande Bharat is a semi-high-speed train. It is a self-propelled engine train. It does not have a separate engine. It has automatic doors and air-conditioned chair car coaches and a revolving chair that can rotate up to 180 degrees. The biggest thing is that it is a Made in India train. Its maximum speed can be 180 kmph, as well as it can achieve the speed of 100 kmph in just 52 seconds. It has been equipped with collision prevention ‘Kavach’ technology. The train has a special toilet for the differently-abled.
