It will include some of the world’s greatest and most renowned cricketers, as well as more than 160 international retired players, competing in the T20-style cricket competition. India won the first edition of the road safety world series, taking home the title of champion. The series included Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, as well as Carl Hooper, Jonty Rhodes, Virender Sehwag, Thilakaratne Dilshan, Yuvraj Singh, Bret Lee, and others.
Legendary cricketers from India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, the West Indies, England, and Bangladesh participated in the competition. Due to the pandemic, the first edition was played in two parts, India Legends headed by Sachin Tendulkar won the inaugural edition. The inaugural season began last year but was cut short because of a COVID-19 epidemic. The remaining matches were performed earlier this year; however, the Australia Legends were unable to compete and were replaced by a Bangladeshi side.
According to reports, negotiations are underway for Sri Lanka to host the event next year. However, nothing has been confirmed. Apart from Sri Lanka, the UAE and South Africa are also in the running to host the RSWS, and it would be interesting to see who wins the bid. In March of this year, India narrowly beat Sri Lanka in the final. It appeared to be a rerun of the 2011 World Cup Final between the two sides since several players from that match were there.
