Twitter Introduces Automatic Captions for Videos on its Website and App
Automatic captions for videos are coming to Twitter. Starting on December 15, the much-anticipated feature began rolling out globally for Android users, iOS users, and the Website. Currently, 37 languages are supported by the auto-captions function.
The captions will show in the language of the device that was used to publish the video originally because Twitter does not enable translation. On both Android & iOS, auto-captions will show on muted videos. On the other side, using a desktop you can turn them on and off. Hearing-impaired users may now view videos on Twitter with auto-captions enabled, allowing more people to utilize the network.

The social media company has made many major changes to its platform and Twitter Spaces. With the debut of Twitter Card previews on Android, iOS, and the Web, it has teamed up with Instagram to make cross-posting easier. Twitter has also implemented a new privacy tool that allows users to unfollow someone without banning them. When a Twitter user removes someone from their timeline, the individual’s tweets will no longer display in their timeline. The Web version is presently accessible.
