New capabilities have been added to the MyGov WhatsApp chatbot. The app will now allow users to book vaccination slots after allowing them to download vaccination certificates by just sending a message to the MyGov helpdesk. A Covid-19 vaccination slot can also be scheduled by sending a message “Book Slot” to the MyGov helpdesk via WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is installed on almost every Indian phone. Those who were previously unable to schedule a vaccination appointment through CoWin will now be enabled to do so faster and easily over WhatsApp.

The platform has been used to download around 32 lakh vaccination certificates. If you have not yet received your covid-19 vaccination, you can schedule an appointment by following the instructions below.
- The first step is to save the helpdesk number (MyGov corona) 9013151515.
- Open the WhatsApp conversation window and send the message “Book Slot” to this number.
- A six-digit OTP will be sent to your phone number by MyGov through SMS. Fill in the digits.
- MyGov will display a list of CoWin members with your phone number.
- Enter area code in the chat and the app will show you a list of vaccination centres around you, along with their costs.
- Keep records of your appointment and arrive at the vaccination centre on time.
