Virat Kohli becomes 1st Indian to hit200 million followers on Instagram

Team India’s star batsman Virat Kohli has now the most number of followers on Instagram. Virat Kohli now has 200 million followers on Instagram, the most by any Indian or any Indian player on the photosharing social app. Virat Kohli also has the most followers among all the cricket players. Only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have more followers on Instagram than king Kohli. Virat Kohli took to Instagram to express his gratitude to his fans. “200 mil strong. Only Messi and Ronaldo have more Instagram followers than Kohli. Messi, the captain of Argentina, has 334 million followers, while Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, has 451 million. With 175 million followers, Neymar, a Brazilian footballer, ranks fourth after Kohli.
Despite a big drop in form in recent years, Kohli has reached a milestone. He hasn’t scored an international century since November 2019 and had a forgettable Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Kohli, who holds the record for most runs scored in the tournament, this season scored 341 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 16 matches at an average of 22.73 and a strike rate of 115.98.
Kohli stepped down as the T20I captain after the 2021 World Cup and was later dropped as the ODI captain. In both roles, Rohit Sharma replaced him. After India’s series in South Africa, he also resigned as Test captain, with Rohit taking his place. Kohli also stepped down as the captain of RCB after the 2021 IPL season, making 2022 the first year in nearly a decade that he is not captaining any team for which he plays.
