WhatsApp is introducing a cashback function for those that use online Payments often. This service, as the name implies, gives customers cashback on UPI transactions made using WhatsApp Payments. This functionality is reportedly being sent out to both Android and iOS beta users.
According to WABetaInfo, the cashback option may only be available to a select group of beta testers, and not all customers that utilize payments would receive a reward. There is no word on when this function will be available to all WhatsApp users.
Vipin was the first to notice the function after receiving payback for using WhatsApp to transmit payment to five contacts. The picture displays a WhatsApp notice congratulating the subscriber on obtaining cashback. For each purchase, he received INR 51 in reward, for a total of INR 255 in cashback. The details of the transaction show on the History page with WhatsApp Payments Settings once you receive the reward.
According to WABetainfo, this is a promotional technique to get more people to use WhatsApp Payments, and it may come to an end in the future. In addition, if customers are not currently beta users, they will not be able to put their phone number in their advertising campaign to receive cashback. Furthermore, there is no information on how WhatsApp selects individuals to test the functionality.
Using the most recent versions of WhatsApp beta for Android on the Play Store and WhatsApp beta for iOS on TestFlight, according to the tracker, boosts the odds of receiving the cashback function. However, some users may have received the functionality in prior upgrades. For all transactions of Re 1 or above, the cashback of INR 51 remains constant.
Moreover, to encourage users to use the WhatsApp Payment facility the platform unveiled a new set of in-app stickers for WhatsApp Payments on 26th December. WhatsApp has partnered with five Indian female artists/illustrators to produce this new set of Payments stickers specifically for WhatsApp users in India.
