Rikkie Valerie Kollé, a transgender model, made history by winning the Miss Universe Netherlands 2023 title. The prestigious award was presented to her on Saturday, July 8, at the AFAS Theater in Leusden, marking the first time a transgender woman has received this honor.
Rikkie Valerie Kollé, a 22-year-old Dutch-Moluccan model residing in Breda, emerged victorious in the Miss Universe Netherlands competition. She will now represent the Netherlands at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, scheduled to take place in El Salvador. Rikkie succeeds Ona Moody as the national representative.

During the event, Nathalie Mogbelzada, 26, from Amsterdam, was announced as the first runner-up, while Habiba Mostafa and Lou Dirchs received the titles of Miss Congeniality and Miss Social Media, respectively. The presence of the reigning Miss Universe, R’Bonney Gabriel from the USA, added a special touch to the historic occasion.
