On August 24, Infosys announced that it has signed a new minimum three-year agreement with UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service), the UK higher education admissions organization. UCAS and Infosys have had a technology collaboration since 2015, but the new contract, which was granted after a long tender process, marks a significant step forward in the relationship, according to a statement.
UCAS offers approximately 30,000 programs to potential participants each year and provides vital admissions and information assistance to individuals, schools, counselors, and higher education institutions. Every year on results days in August, the service hosts the single largest infrastructure event in the UK education sector.
Every year, UCAS supports around 700,000 candidates, with 60,000 more this year than in 2020, and current forecasts suggest that by 2025, there will be 1 million applicants to higher education in the UK.
As per the new agreement, Infosys will offer a wide range of digital solutions to UCAS, allowing it to expand its capabilities for connecting students to universities, awarding bodies, schools, and other organizations. These will be based on a dynamic digital suite of systems that can respond quickly to the rising higher education industry in the United Kingdom.
According to the statement, the Indian IT major will continue to focus on assisting UCAS in reaching its ambitious goals of lowering costs, optimizing, and enhancing student services, delivering more robust security, and giving business-as-usual (BAU) solutions between legacy and new digital systems.
The importance of this current contract with Infosys, as well as the advantages to Universities and Colleges Admissions Service employees and customers, cannot emphasize enough the importance. It marks a significant shift in our relationship, with a strong emphasis on automation, innovation, and efficiency across the board, all of which are vital to improving our long-term goals, according to Sander Kristel, UCAS’ Chief Operations Officer.
Ashiss Kumar Dash from Infosys, said about the current deal with UCAS, in the next three years, we will keep bringing together industry-leading capabilities, ecosystems, and talent to deliver amazing adventures that reflect the expectations and modifying dynamics in the higher education sector.
