No entry fee at Taj Mahal
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will not charge any entry fee for the Taj Mahal and other monuments on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21, an official announced on Monday (June 21).
Rajkumar Patel, ASI (Agra Circle) Superintending Archaeologist, told PTI, “Tourists will be able to visit the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, and other ASI-protected monuments in Agra Circle and across India for free on International Yoga Day. The entry will be free for the entire day for all tourists, Indians and foreigners.”
Meanwhile, district officials said that on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will do yoga with a large number of people from all sections of the society at ‘Panch Mahal’ in Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh.
ITBP Jawans Perform Yoga at an Altitude of 17,000 Feet
Today is the 8th International Yoga Day. On June 21, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans dedicated a song on International Yoga Day 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, International Yoga Day has been organised virtually for the last two years. Indian jawans performed Surya Namaskar at an altitude of 17,000 feet. The Indian Border Security Force (ITBP) has been promoting yoga at different high-altitude Himalayan ranges on the India-China border over the years.

‘Yoga Brings Peace to Society’, PM
“Yoga brings peace to us. The peace from yoga is not merely for individuals. Yoga brings peace to our society. Yoga brings peace to our nations and the world. And, Yoga brings peace to our universe,” PM Modi said.
On Tuesday (June 21) he led the International Yoga Day celebrations in Mysuru, Karnataka. “Yoga is no longer a part of life, it has become a way of life,” he added.
