ROBOTIC LASER SCANNING SYSTEM – A THERAPEAUTIC EVOLUTION

One such critical flagship is the Robotic Laser Scanning System designed by BTL India R&D team. This automated therapeutic tool covers a slew of acute to-chronic musculoskeletal conditions like chronic back pain, muscle or tendon rupture, and arthrosis. Without any manual intervention, the product offers fast, accurate, safe, repeatable, effective, and intelligent administration of Class IV laser therapy.
ROBOTIC LASER SCANNER R&D INSIGHTS
The robotic scanning system has an incredibly complex design and is equipped with custom features. It has up to 30 W of programmable laser power, real-time remote monitoring of the patient’s skin temperature, and selectable robotic laser delivery patterns that eliminate manual intervention. “Additionally, it has an advanced thermal management system to deal with the 30W laser diode, ensuring its reliability and accuracy,” explains Santosh – BTL Project Manager.
However, developing this equipment presented its own set of difficulties. Maintaining laser diode temperature below 30° even when the ambient temperature is 35° was a challenge. Another main issue was ensuring a homogeneous thermic effect at the treated body part in varying power, distance, and skin types at different application patterns.
“We effectively compensated for and adjusted these shortcomings using several complicated algorithms,” explains Ankit and Shanoj – Design team members. Its real-time hardware and software intelligence ensure a zero-failure rate. It also contains three 32-bit processors to manage various connectivity, safety, pattern generation, motor control algorithms, and other functions, a compact handpiece with built-in redundancy and durability. Since it is a proactive remedy for post-traumatic and chronic conditions, surgical interventions, and inflammatory disorders, the product has been a boon for the healthcare sector. With innovative products like this, BTL continues to keep its commitment to providing effective solutions of the highest standard in the industry.

BTL has own production centers in two European countries, as well as R&D in six countries.
