On Friday (May 12), the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 12 Board exam results. The news was shared through the Board’s Twitter handle, and the results were made available on the official websites, cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.gov.in.
Prior to the official announcement, There was a stampede regarding the result, fueled by a fake circular claiming May 11 as the result declaration date. But CBSE rubbished that news saying the letter is not genuine as they never release the dates in advance.
According to CBSE, the pass percentage for this year’s Class 12 exams is 87.33 percent. This surpasses the pre-Covid pass percentage of 83.40 percent recorded in 2019.
In an effort to discourage unhealthy competition, the Board has decided not to assign first, second, or third divisions to students. Instead, CBSE will issue merit certificates to the top 0.1 percent of students who have achieved the highest marks in their subjects.
Among the regions, Thiruvananthapuram achieved the highest pass percentage, with 99.91 percent of students clearing the exam. On the other hand, Prayagraj recorded the lowest pass percentage, with 78.05 percent.
