THE JOURNEY SO FAR
Neelesh is carrying forward the legacy of his forefathers who laid the foundation stone for the company. His Great Grandfather, Late Shri Mishrilal ji Sb. Banthia, started his career excursion in 1927 at Baran, Rajasthan, where he exercised his judicial powers during the British rule. Later, his legacy was continued by the grandfather of Neelesh— Late Shri Nihal Singh ji Sb. Banthia who established Banthia & Co. Advocates in 1953, with its headquarter at Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), India.
With this venture, his grandfather envisioned to bring committed and specialized advocates under the same roof to provide best possible legal services to the clients of various sectors in central India. And today, his vision is being served by Mr B.S. Banthia (Neelesh’s father) who is a Supreme Court Advocate and Neelesh himself. Both of them are running the firm with full dedication and commitment by being in sync with the mission of their forefathers. What started with 3 office spaces and workforce of 10 advocates, has now transformed into a mega corp with a full-fledged team of 350+ advocates and 24 offices across the world.
Obviously, the journey to this thumping success was not a cakewalk, but the determined attempts of the family entrepreneurs kept them high-spirited to make a difference to this industry. Unveiling the obstacles, he came across in his career trajectory to become the leading face of the company, Neelesh states, “I decided to continue the Head Office in Bhopal (M.P.) where my grandfather practiced, instead of shifting his office to a metro city; at that time even though it was a common perception in the business and legal field that there are not many opportunities in a non-metro city.”
His adamant zeal, commitment and optimism allowed him to convert this step to be his best decision, as he understood that the expenses in Bhopal are minimal and travelling is less time consuming as compared to the metro city. Later, he brought numerous professionals on board from across the globe to provided best in class services to his clients while being based in Bhopal. Undeniably, thoughtful approach and acumen are quite praiseworthy.
Neelesh always strived to get ahead by eradicating the convectional law practices and wanted to create the waves of change across this space. Thereby, he turned the direction of the company towards the legal consultancy instead of making it a litigation firm.
