Who Got the Biggest Pay Hike? BCCI Annual Players’ Contracts List 2023 Announced

On Sunday (March 26), the Board of Control for Cricket in India revealed the Annual Player Contracts for the Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, for the 2022-23 season. This contract period is from October 2022 to September 2023. The contract list includes 26 players, and they have been divided into four grades: A+, A, B, and C.

The players in Grade A+ receive a salary of INR 7 crore, Grade A players receive INR 5 crore, INR 3 crore for Grade B players, and INR 1 crore for Grade C players. Among the 26 players in the annual contract list, five have received a promotion, while two players have been demoted but will still retain their contracts. Furthermore, six players who were not contracted in the previous cycle have been included in the current list, while seven players have lost their contracts.

- Ravindra Jadeja: Promoted from Grade A (INR 5 cr) to A+ (INR 7 cr)
- Hardik Pandya: Promoted from Grade C (INR 1 cr) to A (INR 5 cr)
- Axar Patel: Promoted from B (INR 3 cr) to A (INR 5 cr)
- Suryakumar Yadav: Promoted from Grade C (INR 1 cr) to B (INR 3 cr)
- Shubman Gill: Promoted from Grade C (INR 1 cr) to B (INR 3 cr)
Demoted players
- KL Rahul: Demoted from Grade A (INR 5 cr) to B (INR 3 cr)
- Shardul Thakur: Demoted from Grade B (INR 3 cr) to C (INR 1 cr)
NEW ADDITIONS
Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Deepak Hooda, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, KS Bharat have all been added to Grade C (INR 1 crore).
PLAYERS WHO LOST THEIR ANNUAL CONTRACTS
In the prior BCCI contract list, experienced Indian cricketers Ajinkya Rahane and Ishant Sharma were included in the Grade B category, which entailed a salary of INR 5 crore. However, they have not been granted new contracts for the 2022-23 period.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha, and Deepak Chahar, who were previously listed in Grade C (INR 1 crore), have been excluded from the current contract list.
