At the recently concluded BCCI AGM, it was confirmed that the first season of the women’s IPL will be played in 2023. The administrators decided to implement the pay equity policy a few days after the BCCI AGM.
The cricket world has welcomed this move. India’s star cricketer Mithali Raj said, ‘This is a historic step. Equal match fees and women’s IPL are steps to take women’s cricket to where men’s cricket is today. Indian women’s cricket will benefit from the BCCI’s historic decision.
