This is not an easy job.” Undoubtedly, the particular realm is outperforming and surpassing the business world with flying colors. Keeping that in mind, we are here to give some food for thought to enthusiasts of the same.

The management team and the Directors of the company, Ms. Palak Jhunjhunwala, and Mr. Giacomo Calisti, shared numerous lesser- known facts about the company and shed some light on their overall entrepreneurial journey. Giving a detailed introduction to the company, Ms. Palak quips, “beyonddesign is an international architectural and interior design RIBA Chartered Practice with a track record of large-scale projects and several well-crafted and detailed designs. We offer bespoke and contextual high-quality design for complex developments, stand-alone buildings, and interiors.
The practice has more than 11 years of cumulative expertise, on projects of industrial, institutional, cultural, residential, and commercial nature, as well as extensive knowledge of Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas.” She adds, “The studio’s approach to each project is founded on an analytical understanding of the context and brief, with special attention to local culture and value addition outside of the physical space.
Design is used to solve problems and create opportunities by actively considering economic, social, and environmental factors. Each project is treated with a tailored approach. For example, in commercial projects, special attention is given to brand integration and for residential projects, the user’s lifestyle becomes centric to the brief.”
Sharing with us some of the challenges and hurdles throughout the journey, she revealed that as an international practice, the team of beyond design increasingly discovered that each market has a unique approach and relationship between the stakeholders involved in a construction project. “Our systems are designed to allow for both flexibility and quality control, implementing management and technical standards across the board to ensure that as architects and designers, we maintain control over time, cost, and quality
in every context,” she affirms.

“We truly feel that R&D, both in terms of technical knowledge and business development, is utmostly essential concerning the growth of our company. Actively indulging in R&D within the practice helps us to grow our knowledge and makes us more resourceful and technically strong as an architectural studio. Having a background in digital architecture and robotics, we also use advanced technology and tools such as AR and VR to strengthen our offerings.
These are ways of adding value in our services to our clients. Similarly, one of the biggest factors of the company’s outstanding performance is undoubtedly its team of high-qualified architects, designers, and collaborators.. s. Employees are one of the most important resources of a company and the team of beyonddesign feels that it is very important that each one feels confident, driven, and fulfilled.
The management encourages ownership of projects and considers it important that everyone can bring their interest forward. The company also organizes regular 1-to-1 meetings to check in with its employees and implement personal and business development targets catered to each individual.
THE FUTURE OUTLOOK
The first milestone of the company was to establish a set of regular clients and incoming work that would give the team some financial stability to start developing their aspirations further. In the past 2 years, they have achieved some fantastic outcomes for different companies based in India and UK. In the following year, the team is looking to complete the design and construction of a world-class R&D center building and expand its clients and portfolio in both countries.
Lastly, before signing off, the visionaries shafted a few words of wisdom for all the upcoming leaders out there by asserting, “Take your time at the start of the business, work out on a robust business plan and set realistic targets for yourself. The decision to start a business is equally a decision to invest in yourself and in your personal growth.
