Extra salary & 10 lakh reward, this company announces fitness challenge for employees
Have you ever heard that a company gives bonus to its employees for being fit? This has really happened. Online broking firm Zerodha has come up with a fitness challenge for its employees. One-month extra salary will be given to the employee who fulfills this challenge. Apart from this, one lucky participant can win INR 10 lakh as well. Nitin Kamath, co-founder, and CEO of online broking firm Zerodha announced a new health initiative for the employees of his company. He challenged them to set a daily activity goal on their fitness trackers and promised a month’s salary as a bonus to those who met their health goals over the next year.

According to CEO Nitin Kamath, completing this challenge will provide generous incentives to workers, and one lucky participant can win INR 10 lakh as well. According to CEO Nitin Kamath, the challenge will involve burning at least 350 calories per day. Setting daily goals will be an option on the company’s fitness trackers.

However, this is an optional program and at least 350 calories per day should be burned in any form. The Zerodha founder also shared his personal experience while sharing a screenshot of a health app. “Since my initial weight gain after COVID, tracking activity has been the best growth hack, end up being more conscious about diet too. Slowly upped daily goal to 1,000 calories. This is how my Sep looks until now; it will be interesting to see other’s who use activity trackers,” he wrote.
In April this year, Zerodha had already promised weight loss incentives for the staff. Employees with a BMI of less than 25 will get a bonus equal to half a month’s salary. Zerodha started its journey in 2010 with a team of five people. Today, it employs over 1300 workers. Zerodha is a financial services company. It buys and sells stocks in the stock market and provides a platform for transactions in mutual funds.
