Today (August 30), Fossil is scheduled to unveil its future Gen 6 smartwatch, which will successor the Fossil Gen 5 from 2019. This is fantastic news for Fossil enthusiasts who have been waiting for the new Fossil Gen 6 to be released.

The firm officially announced the launch date of the new Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch on August 29th, as well as teased the wearable’s features. Fossil has also created a promotional page for future wearables. In a short teaser video shared on the company’s official Facebook page, the new Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches were promoted.

The release of the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches comes at a time when people are more worried about their health and are seeking new ways to stay fit, one of which is a fitness tracker or smartwatch.

Fossil has not released any details about the Gen 6 series, but recent rumors imply that the smartwatches would be available in two sizes: 42mm and 44mm. WearOS, a Samsung-designed operating system, will power the new smartwatch series. A Snapdragon 4100+ processor will be used in smartwatches. This processor is built on a 12nm architecture and features a quad-core A53 processor with a 1.7GHz clock speed.

Fossil’s Gen 6 smartwatches Specifications

In addition, the Gen 6 wristwatch is expected to contain 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The majority of the models will be waterproof up to 50 metres and have a 24-hour battery life, with the cell charging from zero to 80 percent in 30 minutes. These new smartwatches, however, will not come with Wear OS 3 out of the box. Instead, users may have to wait until 2022 to get this upgrade.
