HDFC Becomes First Private Bank To Start Operations In Lakshadweep

HDFC India’s largest private sector bank, inaugurated Lakshadweep’s first private sector bank at Kavaratti island on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
Making it the alone private sector bank in the Union Territory.The branch was inaugurated in the presence of bank officials by Captain Lovekesh Thakur, serving commanding officer in the Indian Navy and a respected local figure K P Muthukoya, the statement said.
The newly inaugurated Kavaratti branch is aiming to upgrade banking infrastructure in Lakshadweep by offering various services which are being offered in the mainland like: digital banking, personal banking, customised digital solutions to the consumers like, UPI based services etc..
HDFC bank has its presence all over the Indian plateau from the northernmost peak to the southernmost end of India, having over 8,091 branches across 3,872 cities and towns in India.
