The final day of the Commonwealth Games 2022 was amazing for the Indian contingent with four gold medals, one silver, and one bronze. India finished this edition of the Commonwealth Games by finishing fourth in the medal tally with 61 medals including 22 gold, 16 silver, and 23 bronze medals in various sports over a span of 11 days.
On the final day for India, shuttlers PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen along with the men’s doubles pair of SatwikSairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won gold medals at the CWG 2022.
Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhuwith her victory over Canada’s Michelle Li in the Monday final, Sindhu not only won India’s first gold medal in badminton but also her first women’s singles CWG gold medal. Not to forget, Sindhu had earned a bronze medal in 2014 and a silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
