Indian Railways to Launch 9 New Vande Bharat Express Trains on THESE Routes

In a significant development, the Indian Railways is set to expand its fleet of Vande Bharat Express trains, often touted as India’s fastest trains. According to a report by Zee News, a total of 9 new Vande Bharat Express trains are on the verge of being launched on various routes across the country. This expansion is part of the government’s efforts to enhance rail connectivity and passenger experience.
Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai is actively preparing the rakes for these new Vande Bharat Express trains. Notably, the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are slated to receive the highest number of these trains, which is expected to boost connectivity and ease travel for passengers in these regions.
The Ministry of Railways is reportedly planning a grand event to launch multiple trains simultaneously, showcasing its commitment to upgrading India’s railway network. The inclusion of these new trains will undoubtedly provide passengers with faster and more convenient travel options.
Here is a list of the new Vande Bharat Express routes that have been announced:
- Indore – Jaipur Vande Bharat Express
- Jaipur-Udaipur Vande Bharat Express
- Puri – Rourkela Vande Bharat Express
- Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express
- Jaipur-Chandigarh Vande Bharat Express
While five of these routes have been assigned, three others have been designated for the Southern Railways, with names yet to be finalized. The allocation of the last Vande Bharat Express route remains uncertain at this time.
Currently, there are over 25 Vande Bharat Express trains crisscrossing the country, covering a total of 50 routes, with 25 in each direction. These trains are distributed across various railway zones:
- Northern Zone: 4 trains
- Southern and Central Zones: 3 trains each
- Western, West Central, and North Western Railway Zones: 2 trains each
- South East Central, Eastern, East Coast, South Central, South Eastern, Northeast Frontier, East Central, South Western, and North Eastern Railway Zones: 1 train each
These Vande Bharat Express trains have garnered recognition and appreciation on the international stage as well. In the lead-up to the G20 Summit, media delegates from G20 countries experienced the comfort and efficiency of the Vande Bharat Express during their journey from Gandhinagar to Mumbai. Western Railway shared a video, showcasing the train as “the epitome of Indian engineering and comfort.”
As the Indian Railways continues to expand its Vande Bharat Express network, it aims to provide passengers with modern, world-class train services, further improving the country’s rail infrastructure and connectivity. The introduction of these new routes is poised to make rail travel more convenient and efficient for passengers across India.
