IndiGo Flight Forced to Land in Pakistan After Passenger’s Death

An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Doha was diverted to Karachi in Pakistan after a medical emergency on-board. The airline in a statement said a passenger who had fallen ill was declared dead by the airport medical team on landing. An airline official confirmed the news to the news agency ANI.
As per the most recent report, the flight was allowed to take off from Karachi and returned to Delhi with the body of the passenger who died.

The flight, 6E-1736, took off from Delhi at 10:17 pm on Sunday night, and was diverted to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi due to a medical emergency.
The airline issued a statement saying that the passenger was declared dead by the airport medical team upon arrival. The deceased has been identified as Abdullah, a 60-year-old Nigerian.
The pilot of the IndiGo flight had requested emergency landing permission due to a medical emergency, which was granted by the Air Traffic Controller at the Karachi airport. The airline is now coordinating with relevant authorities to transfer the other passengers of the flight.
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the National Institute of Health, Islamabad (NIH) have issued a death certificate for the passenger. IndiGo expressed its condolences and said that it was deeply saddened by the news.
“We are deeply saddened by the news and our prayers and wishes are with his family and loved ones. We’re currently making arrangements for transferring the other passengers of the flight, in coordination with the relevant authorities,” IndiGo said. The total number of people onboard the aircraft could not be immediately ascertained.
