Apple iPhone 15 Pro may launch without SIM card slot: Details here
By Sanjay Maurya
Apple revealed the iPhone 13 series in September, and while the iPhone 14 is still months away from release, rumours about the iPhone 15 have already begun to circulate online. Apple is said to drop the physical SIM card slot starting with the iPhone 15 series in 2023, reports. According to a Blog published in Brazil, the 2023 Pro devices (dubbed iPhone 15 Pro) would not have physical SIM card slots and will rely only on eSIM technology for communication.

Apple iPhone 15 may support eSIM
An eSIM is a SIM card that is embedded in a mobile device and may be used to connect to any eSIM-enabled provider. The eSIM functions similarly to a standard SIM card, however, it does not require a physical SIM card to use. An eSIM technology is becoming increasingly common in tablets, smartphones, and computers.
According to the reports, these iPhones will feature dual e-SIM, allowing customers to utilize two lines at the same time. It’s unclear and unknown as well if non-Pro iPhone will join eSIM technology exclusively or will continue to use the physical SIM card option. Apple’s choice to eliminate the SIM card slot is predictable, considering that the firm is said to be working on a portless iPhone, and removing the SIM card slot looks to be the first step toward that goal.
Even if Apple does release an iPhone without a SIM card slot, the firm may still offer a traditional SIM card slot in regions where eSIM is not accessible. However, according to GSM Arena, 2023 is a long way off, and it’s preferable to wait for this information to be confirmed by trustworthy industry sources before assuming it’s accurate.
