According to ANI, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal a suggestion to lift the weekend curfew in the national capital. The decision to end the restrictions was made in light of the city’s decreased number of Covid cases.
The weekend curfew started in response to an increase in Covid cases, will begin at 10 p.m. on Friday and last until 5 a.m. on Monday. If the LG approves the Delhi government’s proposal, it will be scrapped.
Delhi restrictions update

Recently, Delhi reported 28,867 cases, the highest single-day increase since the pandemic began. On April 20 of last year, it had the highest day tally of 28,395 cases.
According to an order issued by the Delhi government on Thursday, the cost of conventional RT-PCR testing for COVID-19 detection in private hospitals and labs will be capped at INR 300, a 40% drop from the previous rate.
The cost of an RT-PCR test used to be INR 500. At private hospital, the rapid antigen test (RAT) will cost INR 100. Earlier, a RAT used to cost INR 300. According to data published by the municipal health department on Thursday, Delhi recorded 12,306 new COVID-19 cases and 43 new COVID-19 fatalities, with the positive rate dipped to 21.48 percent.
According to state government data, 2,784 individuals have occupied beds in Delhi’s healthcare facilities, with hospitalisation rates remaining low. The number of active cases in Delhi currently stands at 83,982, with an occupancy rate of 18%. In the national capital, around 82 percent of specialized Covid-19 beds are vacant, and of the hospitalised patients, 900 are on oxygen and 140 are on ventilator support.
