Post Twitter outage, Elon Musk announces server architecture changes on the Platform
There was an outage, according to users from all over the world. Others were being signed out of the service while some just saw a black screen. Some claimed they were unable to view tweet replies and responses, while others claimed they were unable to view trending topics. From the UK and Germany to Italy and India, it had an impact on individuals. Services like Net Blocks and Down Detector, who provide independent web monitoring, reported it.
Musk said that “major backend server architecture improvements” had been made by the business that caused all of this. The microblogging platform should become faster, he added, as a result. Following the announcement, Twitter users posted in the comments area.
Some users reported that timelines did not update and that many accounts appeared to be empty.
“Pretty much everyone on my feed complains the site feels broken,” a user commented.
Another user wrote, “Twitter is broken on the web, won’t let anyone log in.”
Several customers saw error warnings on the platform “Don’t worry; something went wrong and it wasn’t your fault. Let’s try again.”
In the US, there have been almost 10,000 reports of Twitter outages, according to downdetector.com, a company that tracks online outages.
Earlier this month, Twitter experienced a brief global outage, including in India, before coming back online as Elon Musk said that “Twitter is speeding up.”
Musk also revealed on Wednesday that a new Twitter policy will not just follow science but will also challenge it. He wrote on Twitter, “New Twitter policy is to follow the science, which inevitably includes reasoned doubt of the science.” After that, he said, “Anyone who thinks that criticising them is challenging science itself cannot be considered a scientist.”
Since Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of the microblogging site in October, a lot of previously unknown content has been available on the platform.
The social network’s editing guidelines have drawn criticism for strictly policing the material it displays, and the billionaire wants to soften them. The company advises “keep what works and tweak what doesn’t work.”
The Twitter CEO ran a poll on December 18 asking users if they thought he should stand down as the platform’s CEO. After 12 hours of voting, the poll ended with more than 17.5 million users having taken part. Only 42.5% of users opposed Musk’s resignation, while 57.5% voted in support of it. Following the poll, Musk pledged to leave his position as CEO of Twitter as soon as he found “someone crazy enough” to succeed him.
