Snapchat’s new feature allows creators to make money from advertisement
By Sanjay Maurya
Snapchat, the popular photo-sharing application, is introducing a new revenue feature. Advertisements are now being tested in Stories on the Snap-owned platform. While the functionality is now being tested by a select group of creators in the United States, it will be rolled out internationally in the coming months. When a user’s Snapchat story contains advertising, the platform will share the percentage of revenue with the creators.
According to the company, the percentage of income received will be determined by many factors, including the user’s posting frequency and the story’s engagement. The functionality is now only available to Snapchat’s verified creators and famous creators, who have a large number of followers and a gold star next to their username.

Snapchat is a smartphone application that allows users to share and receive photographs, videos, and text messages. It has over 300 million daily active users from all over the world who are sending billions of photographs to each other on the platform.
Ads were previously displayed in the Snapchat app as users visited their friends’ stories and the Discover section. Snapchat will now encourage creators and verified creators to post stories in exchange for a percentage of revenue generated from advertising placed between stories. The news comes after CEO Evan Spiegel told investors at a conference that Snapchat users are spending more time on Spotlight, featuring short videos similar to Instagram Reels.
Snapchat has been experimenting with a variety of methods for creators to profit from the content they create on the app. The corporation has previously announced a big amount of money about $1 million per day for creators in 2020. Now, the business is paying millions of dollars to popular creators who create Spotlight videos. Snapchat has given more than $250 million to creators in 2021.
