Vodafone Idea to hike prepaid plan prices: Check new rates list here

Just a day after Airtel, Vodafone Idea, better known as Vi, increased its cellphone pricing for prepaid connections. The mobile pricing increase, according to the telecom operator, would assist boost the average revenue per user (ARPU) and “address financial pressures in the business.” The new mobile pricing will go into effect on November 25, a day before Airtel’s plans for prepaid users will alter.

Although Vi’s new prepaid rates are ostensibly less expensive than Airtel’s, several plans are priced similarly. The lowest INR 79 package, for example, would now cost INR 99 and include restricted local and STD calls for 28 days as well as 200MB of data. According to Vi’s rejig of prepaid rates, the highest value recharge package of INR 2,399 would now cost INR 2,899 instead.

The yearly package from Vodafone Idea costs INR 100 less than Airtel and includes unlimited local, STD, and international calls, as well as 1.5GB of data per day and 100 SMS per day. So, if you’re thinking about getting a yearly plan for your Vi number, do it before November 25 to save INR 500.
