Google launches TikTok rival Tangi App -1 minute DIY learning videos

Since the advent of social networking platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok, the trend of 60-second videos is ruling the internet and paving the new way for netizens to learn and explore from the creativity. Therefore, it brings the platform for young users to seek knowledge from others who are making short captivating videos. Ultimately it leads Google’s way into the market with stepping into the business and launching a similar platform called Tangi. On the other hand, TikTok which is mainly an entertainment-only focused app, the newly launched Tangi will be focused on inspiring people to try creative projects such as fashion, art, DIY, cooking, and beauty.
The name Tangi by Googles comes from the words “Teach” and Give, which means “tangible” things you can present. The app also comes with a feature “Try It” that allows the viewers to recreate the same video they are watching.
Last year, a small team of 120 in Google’s lab for experimental projects, started making Tangi. They made it as an experimental social video sharing app with quick DIY videos that help people learn new and exciting things every day. Tangi is a platform where creative people can get new ideas to connect with other passionate people like them.
Tangi app by Google is currently available only on the Apple App Store and the app’s website, tangi.co. There is no Android app present as of now for users to operate Tangi in Android phones. The app is not allowing everyone to upload videos for now. Moreover, if you want to contribute to the app then you can join the waiting list.
Apart from making videos on the Tangi app users can also like and comment on other people’s videos. All of the liked videos will be made available to the users.
