KiTEC Industries India Private Limited is an eminent joint venture established with an embellishing vision to manufacture a revolutionary piping system popularly known as “KiTEC Composite Pipes”. The company commenced its manufacturing operation in technical and financial collaboration with KiTECHNOLOGY BV, Netherlands at its Silvassa (India) plant in October 1996. The past four decades account for accelerating the trend towards the use of alternative materials, particularly plastics and ceramics based, as a replacement for metals including steel and non-ferrous materials (copper, aluminium and brass).
The Concept
KiTEC is an aluminium and polyethene composite that amalgamates the finest features of both materials required to form a pipe, light, strong and does not support corrosion. By combining the two materials along with adhesive layers, KiTEC pipe avoids the redundant thermal expansion and deformation of plastic pipe. At the same time, it retains the flexibility, frost resistance and ease of use associated with plastic.

Salient features:
The unique feature of KiTEC is its malleability. It permanently holds the shape it is formed into and does not stand in need of any additional clips or brackets to preserve bends or curves. KiTEC is smoothly formed into curves, sets by hand and only demand bending springs when devising tight bends down to a radius equivalent to 5 times the diameter of the pipe. Soluble encrusts, such as calcium carbonate do not readily precipitate onto the smooth walls. In addition, there is no reduction in flow areas and flow coefficients as the age of the pipe.
The pipes are extremely hygienic, non-toxic, rust-free and eliminate the growth of microorganisms. This exterminates the contamination of water. Besides, it has passed all tests for the transportation of potable water in accordance with British Standard BS 6920 by the British Water Quality Center.

KiTEC is the pioneer in India for its exceptional feature with a manufacturing capacity of 8.5 million meters per annum. The product mix covers sizes ranging from 14 mm OD to 110 mm OD along with associated fittings and installation tools. In India, GI pipes were predominantly used for the domestic hot and cold water distribution system. However, the inauguration of KiTEC pipes ensured tremendous efforts since 1995 to transform the use of alternative materials such as KiTEC multilayer Composite pipes. Over the years, the organization has been able to change the mindset of consumers and today there are a host of alternative materials in this segment.
The composite pipes offer an economic alternative to all the materials with the potential to replace GI pipes extensively. The company centralizes a long-term objective of developing the manufacturing capacity for the size range from 110 mm OD to 400 mm OD.
