Chogule’s winning photograph will be displayed on Apple’s official website, Apple’s Instagram account, and billboards in select cities. The photos will also be displayed in the winners’ home countries. The purpose of the photography was to highlight the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max’s macro camera sensor. Photographers were asked to use the iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max’s macro lens to capture the image.
A worldwide panel of experienced judges, including Anand Varma, Apeksha Maker, Peter McKinnon, Paddy Chao, Yik Keat Lee, Arem Duplessis, Billy Sorrentino, Della Huff, Kaiann Drance, and Pamela Chen, judged the photography contest.
Chogule used the iPhone 13 Pro’s micro lens to capture dew drops on a spider web. The dew drops have the appearance of pearls. “I enjoy going for early morning walks with my iPhone 13 Pro because I am a nature lover. The ‘golden hour’ brings the best out of nature and is a photographer’s delight. Dewdrops on a spiderweb drew my attention, and I was fascinated by the way the dry spider silk formed a necklace on which the dew glistened like pearls. It felt like a piece of art on nature’s canvas,” Prajwal Chogule said.
About Prajwal’s winning shot, Apeksha Maker (panel judge) said, “The image is so perfect that it seems like an example.” The well-arranged dewdrops on the spider web are captured in great detail. It’s something that most people would miss around them. There is a kind of harmony in the drops; At first glance, the viewer may be deceived as to what the subject is all about. The iPhone does a fantastic job focusing on such great detail that has almost no definite background.”
The other winning photos such as a cavernous hibiscus flower, snowflakes on a dog’s hair, and a strawberry engulfed in tiny soda water bubbles.
