- In February 2022, Samsung dominated the list of top 10 best-selling phones worldwide.
Samsung seems to be leading the sales charts for Android phones as the company sold more 5G smartphones than its rivals. A recent Counterpoint report reveals that Samsung dominated the list of top 10 best-selling smartphones globally in February 2022 and the top four models in the list belonged to this brand.
The best-selling model was the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, which was followed by the flagship Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy A32 5G. These handsets, along with the tenth-placed Galaxy A22 5G, contributed to 24 percent of global 5G Android smartphone sales.

While some of these phones were launched last year, it will be interesting to see how the Samsung Galaxy A and Galaxy M series phones perform in 2022. The company has unveiled many new 5G phones with the same chipset at various pricing ranges, some of which comes without a charger. Other brands like OnePlus, Realme, and Xiaomi are still bundling it, apart from offering top-notch in the low-price segment.
Furthermore, Samsung has yet to launch a handset that supports at least 33W fast charging. On the other side, the rival offers 65W rapid charging technology. We’ll have to wait and see if Samsung’s decision to remove the charger and skip some of the features pays out for them. Report claims sales were driven by smartphones under $250 with 5G capability. The Galaxy A22’s primary markets were India and the United Kingdom. The phone sports a 90Hz display, a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, a standard 5,000mAh battery, and Dolby Atmos audio capabilities.
According to the research, Samsung’s attempts to provide users with 5G-ready devices at lower prices may have paid off. Surprisingly, Xiaomi’s Redmi K40 is ranked eighth on the list, which excludes phones from well-known manufacturers like OnePlus and Apple. Honor, Oppo, and Vivo devices are included in the list.
