Tata Power joins hands with HPCL to setting up EV charging stations
On July 16, Tata Power announced a partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) to provide end-to-end electric vehicle charging stations at HPCL’s retail outlets (petrol pumps) across the country.
Tata Power is a pioneer in the electric vehicle charging market, with over 500 public chargers in over 100 locations, including fuel stations, shopping malls, theatres, metro stations, and highways. captive charging, home, office charging, Public charging, and ultra-rapid chargers for buses are all areas of the EV eco-system where the firm is present.
Tata Power will offer EV charging infrastructure at HPCL pumps for EV users who travel within cities and intercity according to the agreement. The Tata Power EZ charge platform allows for charging.
The collaboration will play a significant role in encouraging EV owners to charge their vehicles at a variety of fuel stations. It also aligns with the Indian government’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP), which seeks to create electric car charging infrastructure utilizing cutting-edge technology and provide simple access to charging stations for electric vehicles.

According to Sandeep Bangia, the move would greatly benefit EV users because it will not only give them convenient access to charging points but also reduce range anxiety, leading to wider adoption of EVs in the country.
