69th National Film Awards: President Droupadi Murmu to Confer Awards Today; Full List of Winners

Today (October 17, 2023), President Droupadi Murmu is set to confer the prestigious 69th National Film Awards at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The awards ceremony will recognize the outstanding talents and contributions to Indian cinema in various categories.
The event has been marked by remarkable achievements and several firsts. Notably, popular actors Kriti Sanon and Alia Bhatt jointly secured the National Film Award in the Best Actress category, underscoring their exceptional acting skills.
Kriti Sanon, who was named Best Actress for her role in the critically acclaimed film ‘Mimi,’ expressed her joy, stating, “I thank God and my fans for everything. My prayers have been answered. I have a diary in which I write about my life, my dreams, and my goals. After working in ‘Mimi,’ I had penned down in my diary that I would win the national award for my performance in this film, and I won it. I hope this win inspires boys and girls who watch thousands of dreams and want to make them come true.”
In a groundbreaking achievement, Allu Arjun became the first Telugu star to clinch the Best Actor award in the history of National Film Awards, honored for his exceptional performance in ‘Pushpa.’
R Madhavan, who transitioned into directing with “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” was recognized with the National Award for Best Feature Film. Furthermore, “The Kashmir Files” received the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration, shedding light on a crucial subject.
