Google announces scholarship for women studying computer science; Here’s how to apply

Google is accepting scholarship applications from women who want to work in the field of computer science. Students seeking computer science degrees will benefit from the Generation Google Scholarship for Women in Computer Science, which will help them flourish in technology.
Scholarships totaling $1000 (INR 74191.35) will be awarded to selected students for the academic year 2022-2023. Students will be chosen for the scholarship based on their dedication to innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as their academic success. The application date for the internship programme is December 10, 2021.
Fees, tuition, books, equipment, and supplies necessary for classes at the primary college/university must be paid out of the scholarship money. Once the applicants have been chosen, their enrollment will be verified. All scholarship payments will be sent to the chosen student directly. If a person fails to complete the steps by the deadline, they will be disqualified and will not get any scholarship. Google Employees are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
For the academic year 2021-2022, candidates must be enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s degree programme. When completing the scholarship programme, the candidate must be in their second year of study at an approved institution in an Asia Pacific country, studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field. You also can show that you have a solid academic record.
Application Process
- Resume/CV emphasizing the candidate’s technical projects as well as his involvement in community engagement efforts.
- Academic transcripts from your present or previous colleges (if applicable).
- In addition, Candidates must submit two 400-word essays. English language is compulsory for Essays.
- These writings will be used to evaluate the candidate’s commitment to fairness, diversity, and inclusion, as well as their financial need. The following are the two topics:
1st Topic – What do you feel is a major obstacle that women in the IT sector face, and how do you see yourself contributing to the solution(s) to this problem? Keep in mind that influence can occur in a variety of ways and on various scales.
2nd Topic – How will earning this award affect your educational goals? Describe any circumstances that have influenced your need for a scholarship, as well as the educational goals that this scholarship will help you achieve.
