According to reports, WhatsApp was working on a feature that would allow users to hide their Last Seen, Profile Photo, and About section from certain people. WhatsApp is finally handing out the functionality for WhatsApp Android beta users, according to recent reports. Users will need to upgrade to the current WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.23.14 to receive the latest functionality. The function is presently being handed out to a select group of beta users, so if you haven’t received it yet, you may have to wait a bit longer.
One of the things that users have long desired is the option to hide their last seen and profile image. Users may now hide their Profile Picture, About Section, and Last Seen from a specific contact and all contacts as well. WhatsApp does not presently allow users to hide from certain contacts. The only option now is to conceal it from all of your contacts and anyone whose phone numbers you haven’t saved.
It’s also worth noting that if you conceal your last seen in the current settings, you won’t be able to see the last seen of your contacts. Similarly, if you turn off the blue ticks, you won’t know whether or not the other person has seen your message.
A screenshot of the functionality has been published by Wabetainfo, which reveals a separate “My contacts except” option. There were previously just three choices for hiding your profile image from Everyone, My contacts, and Nobody. For the time being, the My contacts excluding option has been added to Beta users.
WhatsApp has yet to release the stable version of the function, so unless you are a beta tester, you will not be able to use it. In reality, the functionality will not be available to iOS beta users. It’s only available to a small group of Android users. Don’t worry if you haven’t yet gotten the function; WhatsApp is progressively activating it for select beta testers, and it will be available to everyone soon.
