She holds over 25 years of amazing work experience in construction and design and has imagined spaces that leave a lasting impression. In her journey, Susan has the incredible privilege of providing top-notch client service and luxury design while also investing back into her community to make a difference.
Her compelling story began with an opportunity to work in the construction and design industry, she had just graduated from the prestigious Texas Christian University in BSElementary Education and Teaching joined industry. Before Susan launched her interior design business, she owned a home building business with her husband for 12 years. During that time, as they were building homes their clients started asking her to help pick out their countertops, tiles, paint, etc., and that eventually evolved into her doing design as a career. After that, she was in business on the retail side for 18 years.
Later, she decided to begin her own business and began her entrepreneurial path with no clients, a wealth of experience, a focused enthusiasm, and a small band of allies. Armed with her expertise and a crystal-clear vision, she stepped out in faith to begin her new venture with no clients and a handful of employees willing to join her journey. But her passion, combined with team efforts, eventually found progress, Susan Semmelmann Interiors grew leaps and bounds in three short years, with 70 projects currently in the work. She managed to grow her brand with customer trust, employee retention, networking, word-of-mouth, and recognition from peers and contemporaries at unprecedented levels.

GEOGRAPHICAL EXPANSION
Initially, Susan was nervous about taking on 2,500 square feet of office space, wondering if she would be able to sustain it. At present, the firm has a 10,000 square foot building on Vickery Boulevard that includes the firm offices as well as the Fort Worth Design Studio. Here, the idea is to open these resources to the public, in addition to online availability through the manufacturer, and give other designers more options to offer their clients. The leading lady is passionate about sharing what she has to help others!
GIVING BACK TO THE SOCIETY
Susan is closing working with the Fort Worth-based non-profit, a Wish with Wings. The organisation works for Texas children suffering from life-threatening medical conditions. Susan recently provided them with a fully customised transformation of their office lobby, which she built using her personal resources. Susan and her husband, Marc have become known as the “wing people” because of their involvement with these organisations, and they prefer this moniker; they use their wings to lift others up.
WORDS OF WISDOM
Follow what you believe in your heart, that God has given you the talent to do and go do it, because when you do what you love to do it’s not work. It’s not a job for me. I get to wake up every day and do what I love…It’s never a day off because it’s something that I can’t wait to get up and create to do and be able to service our clients in a way that other entities can’t because we offer resources that you can’t find.
