Airtel Payments Bank Launches NCMC-Enabled Debit And Prepaid Cards

Airtel Payments Bank has announced the launch of its eco-friendly NCMC (National Common Mobility Cards) authorized prepaid and debit cards on Friday, April 19, 2024. Launched in partnership with NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) and their network partner is RuPay. The cards are made with eco-friendly materials like e-PVC known for its being environmentally sustainable as compared to the plastic cards used by other banks.
Further, Airtel Payments Bank said, these cards are a step forward in lining to India’s “One Nation One Card” vision.
The payments bank will provide NCMC authorized debit cards to its savings account holders and NCMC enabled prepaid cards to its wallet users. Customers can get their Airtel Payments Bank’s NCMC authorized debit card by placing an order on the app and can later receive the same from nearest Airtel Payments Bank banking point.

As per Airtel Payments Banks statement, customers can used both the cards
- For offline transit transactions including metros, buses, toll plaza, parking etc.
- Can be used to pay at malls, online shopping, ticket bookings, fuel stations etc. instead of buying a ticket can use these cards as metro cards or bus cards.
- These cards also offer flexible payment options like one can choose to opt for pay per transactions, or to purchase monthly passes.
- Plus it also offers enhanced security than its counterparts with EMV chip protection.
